Taiwan rocked by series of earthquakes

Taipei, Nov. 8 (CNA) Three temblors stronger than magnitude 4 jolted Taiwan Sunday but caused no damage or casualties, according to the Central Weather Bureau.

The first one, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, occurred at 00: 45 a.m, with the epicenter 14.4 km southeast of Minchien, Nantou County, at a depth of 25.1 km.

The second, with a magnitude of 4.1, struck at 10:34 a.m., 8.3 km southeast of Nanao, Yilan County, at a depth of 9.6 km.

The third quake, measuring 4.8, occurred at 7:09 p.m., with the epicenter 5.6 km east of Hualien City, at a depth of 38.5 km.
