TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Children from the Paiwan indigenous community received the opportunity on New Year’s Day to board a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Singapore Airlines flight SQ876 had mobilized the brand new huge aircraft for its January 1 flight to and from Taiwan’s major airport.
On this special occasion, the airline also invited the children from Majia village in Taiwan’s southern county of Pingtung to visit the new plane, the Central News Agency reported.
They first performed songs and dances at the inaugural ceremony before being told the ins and outs of the aircraft, including how to fasten the seat belts and the kind of instruments on board.
The Dreamliner can carry 36 passengers in business class and 301 in economy, while it is equipped with special adaptable lighting and top-of-the-line air conditioning systems, CNA reported.
