TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A 24 person team of medical professionals has arrived in the African Kingdom of eSwatini to provide free medical services for those in need.
Over the coming weeks, the team of medical experts will make a visit to nine small towns throughout eSwatini, which remains a staunch diplomatic ally of Taiwan.
The team will offer free medical services in areas of “otolaryngology, gynaecology, neurology” and offer emergency operations to those in need, reports Agence de Press Africaine.
The Third Secretary at the Embassy of Taiwan in eSwatini, Violet Mu-hsuan Chen, released a statement on the arrival of the Taiwanese medical team. “The doctors will work together to provide free clinical services for the local inhabitants around the kingdom.”
Taiwan also maintains a regular medical mission of 10 medical specialists at the kingdom’s Mbabane Government Hospital. The mission is organized by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund, and has been in operation since 2011.
