TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- A day after the shocking news that a doctor at an abortion clinic had raped his patient while she was undergoing an abortion procedure in his clinic in Taoyuan, Taiwan, it has been revealed that his wife was not motivated to secretly video her husband to ensure the well-being of the patients, but rather to catch him with his suspected mistress.
Lin Chin-jen (林勤人), a 61-year-old physician and owner of Doctor Altus Obstetrics and Gynecology in Taoyuan's Zhongli District, has been accused of using an excessive dosage of anesthetic on a female migrant worker, enabling him to sexually assault her before undergoing an abortion in April of last year. Lin's wife captured the doctor in the act of assaulting the victim with a concealed camera, and after being confronted by police, Lin confessed to the crime and was yesterday charged with aggravated forcible sexual intercourse (強制性交罪).
Today, it was revealed that Lin's wife had told prosecutors that her husband had a mistress the year before last, and even brought her home to live with the family, according Apple Daily. She also reportedly said, "Every time he came out of his mistress's room, he would be gasping for air."
A year later, when she suspected Lin was having another affair, she decided to setup a pinhole camera in the operating room of his clinic to observe his behavior.
When she viewed the footage captured from the room, she was shocked to see that, instead of a tryst with his mistress, he gave his immigrant patient an excessive dose of anesthetic, before proceeding to lick, molest, and rape her. Only after completing his abominable act, did he finally perform the scheduled abortion.
After witnessing her husband's despicable deed, she reported it to police. When police showed Lin footage of his heinous crime, he confessed that he indeed gave her an excessive dose of 13 cc of anesthetic to prolong the operation enough to enable him to sexually assault the victim.
The Taoyuan Prosecutor's Office is now charging him with aggravated forcible sexual intercourse (強制性交罪).
When police were able to locate the immigrant woman and notify her that she had been sexually assaulted, she was shocked and bitterly complained, "taking advantage of others in a vulnerable condition, truly wicked!"
Incredibly, Lin's wife is still by his side, and when asked by the media for comment, she said, "What I want to say is he is a good father. He is a good doctor. That's it. We're only human, no one is perfect."
In response to the shocking news, vigilantes tossed eggs at Lin's clinic and smashed the windshield of his car early this morning.
