TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — During the Children's Day/Tomb Sweeping Day holiday from April 4-7, children will enjoy free rides on the Taipei Metro and admission to select entertainment venues.
On Monday (April 1), the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) announced school children aged 6 to 12 will be eligible for free rides on the Taipei MRT and Maokong Gondola, as well as free admission to Taipei Children's Amusement Park and Taipei Arena Ice Land.
Free rides on Taipei MRT
Children can receive free rides on the Taipei Metro by presenting the “2024 Taipei Children's Month Exploration Pamphlet," Taipei City digital student ID cards, or regular student ID cards. They can also obtain children’s tickets for the free rides at any Taipei MRT counter.
Free rides on Maokong Gondola
Students from primary schools nationwide can ride for free by presenting the pamphlet or previously mentioned ID cards in exchange for a "free ride voucher." They can enjoy unlimited free rides on the same day, while accompanying parents must purchase tickets separately.
Free admission to Taipei Children’s Amusement Park
Kids accompanied by at least one parent can enter the park for free by presenting the pamphlet or ID cards. However, both children and accompanying parents must pay for rides inside the park.
Free admission to Taipei Arena Ice Land
Elementary school students can enjoy free ice skating tickets by presenting the pamphlet or ID cards. Accompanying parents need to purchase tickets separately, and protective gear and gloves must be rented separately.
