TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A heat advisory has been issued for southern Taiwan, with daytime highs reaching 36 C, though a passing weather front could bring relief mid-week, bringing rain and cooler temperatures.
WeatherRisk meteorologist Ke Yuning (柯聿寧) said a passing front will lead to thundershowers in central and northern areas on Thursday (April 18). Ke said the front is quick-moving and could bring rainfall, including thunder and lightning, and strong wind gusts.
Ke said the front will quickly weaken, allowing cool air from the north to move southward, leading central and southern mountainous areas to experience unstable weather with potential showers in the afternoon, per UDN.
Ke said on Friday (April 19) there will be little rainfall. Southerly winds will strengthen on Saturday (April 20), leading to hot and stable weather across much of Taiwan. Good weather will last through Sunday (April 21).
Ke said wet weather is then expected for northern and central Taiwan on Monday (April 22) as another weather front will approach from the north.
