TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The European External Action Service (EEAS) nominated Lutz Gullner as its new representative to Taiwan on Tuesday (April 16).
According to an EEAS press release, High Representative Josep Borrell named 44 diplomats including Gullner for its next staff rotation. Guller, who currently serves as the EEAS head of strategic communications, will be stationed at the European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan, per CNA.
“I am honored to be nominated as the Head of Office of the EU in Taiwan,” he said. “Looking very much forward to my new role!”
During the first Berlin-Taiwan conference hosted by the EU delegation to Germany at the end of 2022, Gullner represented the EU, highlighting the increasing importance of the EU’s cooperation with Taiwan in combating disinformation, reported CNA.
