TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Students from Hong Kong and Macau could help Taiwanese enterprises expand on a global scale, the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) said Tuesday (April 23).
More than 200 of the students attended a seminar at National Taiwan University (NTU) on Monday (April 22) organized by the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council (THEC). The event, the second in a series of seven, was designed to inform them about government policies and answer their questions, per CNA.
The MAC said the students were familiar with Taiwan’s languages and culture through their studies in the country. In combination with their experience growing up overseas, they were a solid fit for businesses from Taiwan planning to expand into new markets, MAC official Corinna Wei (魏淑娟) said.
Due to the rising interest of students from Hong Kong and Macau, THEC launched a series of lectures to help them learn more about immigration rules, finding work, business entrepreneurship and innovation, and the possibility of culture clash.
