TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A weather front is expected to spoil the end of Mother’s Day Sunday (May 12) with heavy rainfall in central, north, and northeast Taiwan, weather forecasters said Saturday (May 11).
Rain was likely to start during the afternoon and become heavier as the day proceeded, per CNA. The weather would become gradually drier during Monday (May 13), though afternoon thundershowers were still possible.
While temperatures were still expected to reach 30 C Sunday, the weekend would be followed by two cooler days due to northeasterly seasonal winds. The mercury was likely to drop to lows of 18 C to 20 C, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
During the day, north Taiwan would still record highs from 25 C to 27 C Monday and Tuesday (May 14). However, more comfortable weather was likely to follow, forecasters said.
