TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Pizza Hut Taiwan on Tuesday (June 4) released a pizza inspired by the Japanese anime series “Cardcaptor Sakura.”
Following the launch of mugwort mochi ninja turtle pizza in March, Pizza Hut Taiwan on Tuesday launched the limited-edition “Magic Circle Cheese Pizza" inspired by the Japanese manga and anime series Cardcaptor Sakura. Fans of the series can also order a side dish shaped like the character Cerberus, also known as Kero-chan.
The Magic Circle Cheese Pizza is shaped like an eight-point star with a halo. The crunchy halo is made from pizza dough, filled with cheese, and dotted with macaroons.
Each of the eight beams of the star is filled with German sausage and topped with white mochi. The heart of the star is filled with Japanese curry over mashed potatoes.
As part of the set meal, customers will receive yellow baozi shaped like Cerberus which has a matcha green tea and red bean filling. Some lucky consumers will also receive a “Pizza Hut Magic Pendant” keychain that features one of the three popular characters Sakura Kinomoto, Cerberus, and Tomoyo Daidouji.
From June 4-10, anyone who purchases the Magic Circle Cheese Pizza set meal on the PK app on Google Play or the Apple Store will have the opportunity to experience the double-decker sightseeing bus of the "Pizza Hut Music Magic Bus Tour" around Taipei. It has popular characters from the series such as Sakura Kinomoto, Syaoran Li, Cerberus, Tomoyo Daidouji, Toya Kinomoto, and Yukito Tsukishiro.
Each winner can take one companion. Each of the four winning tours includes 12 pairs (24 people) as they embark on a “magical journey together.”
Cardcaptor Sakura follows the adventures of its protagonist Sakura Kinomoto, a 10-year-old elementary school student, who discovers she possesses magical powers after accidentally freeing a set of magical cards from a book. Her mission is to retrieve the cards to avoid a global catastrophe.
