TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) on Thursday (June 6) said “T-AI-WAN” will help the world build artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
Huang hosted a banquet for 180 Nvidia employees at the Shin Yeh Taiwanese Cuisine Restaurant in Taipei's Zhongshan District as he prepared to leave the country Saturday (June 8), per ETtoday. Huang reluctantly accepted an impromptu interview with reporters who swarmed him as he left the restaurant at 8 p.m.
He initially said, “I see all of you every single day. I don't have anything else left to say.” However, when asked to comment on the most impressive part of Computex Taipei, Huang said, he was most impressed by “all of the companies that are partners of ours, the amazing technology they demonstrated, the spirit and enthusiasm of all the employees. Everyone is so excited for this new age.”
Huang declared, “Artificial intelligence is coming,” and making a play of words with the acronym AI, he said: “Taiwan, T-AI-WAN, is, of course, going to help the world build AI infrastructure, so it starts here.” Huang's parting words to the crowd of reporters and fans were: "I am very proud of all of you. Thank you for all of the time you spent with me. Take care of yourself."
Although he refused to issue any further comments, he still took time to sign many autographs as he made his way through the packed crowd of fans, and waved at them before entering a black sedan.
