Regarding this year's Olympics, Yang said that he has set clear goals. The 26-year-old champ said he has been analyzing the selected national athletes and has been practicing counters.
Yang said most of the participants are familiar faces he has faced on IJF international tours, including Japan’s contender Ryuju Nagayama and Kazakhstan’s 31-year-old Yeldos Smetov, who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Yang won a silver medal at the previous Tokyo Olympics, earning Taiwan its first medal of the games and setting the momentum for the team, which ended up with a historic tally of two golds, four silvers, and six bronzes.
