TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A dog was seen strapped to a dog carrier worn by a cyclist in Taoyuan on Saturday (June 29). 

X account Special Taiwan told Taiwan News that the dog and its owner were spotted that day on Zhongzheng Road in Nankan Village in Taoyuan's Luzhou District. The administrator uploaded a still image and video of the dog and cyclist on Sunday (June 30).

The dog was also sporting a pair of goggles during the ride. The video soon had over 10,000 views. 

Special Taiwan noted Taiwan's scooter-riding dogs are “world famous” but the “precarious perches pooches must adopt seem dangerous.” Special Taiwan said the backpack “appears safer, if less fun for the dog.”

One follower described the dog carrier as a “barkpack." Another pointed out that dogs in Taiwan are known to remain still while sitting on scooters, “something they learn after living generations in Taiwan.”
