TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A double-decker bus will provide visitors with “God’s point of view” in Kenting during weekends, the Pingtung County Government said Wednesday (July 3).
The service will start on July 13 and will operate each Saturday and Sunday during the summer, per CNA. The plan followed the success of a similar service in the northern part of the county.
The No. 185 mountain route double-decker bus was in its third year of operations each weekend from January through April. Each year, 2,500 passengers boarded the bus, according to county officials.
A guide would accompany the passengers to tell stories on the trip through the region’s history, culture, and natural environment. The bus will depart at 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from the parking lot near the arch of the Kenting National Forest Recreation Area to head south with stops of 15 minutes each at the Sail Rock and the Shadao Shell Sands Visitor Center. A final 20-minute stop is planned at Longpan Park before the return journey.
A bus ticket will cost NT$200 (US$6.12) and can be purchased on the TBS Taipei Transit Station app from noon on July 6. The bus ticket also includes discounts at 22 hotels.
