TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Hong Kong actor and singer-songwriter Andy Lau (劉德華) Wednesday (July 3) announced he would perform in Taiwan for the first time since 2013.
Lau announced on social media that he will perform in Taipei as part of his "Today... is the Day" tour. He will take the stage for four shows at the Taipei Arena from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
Lau, who has been in the industry for 43 years, released his first Cantonese album "Just Know I Only Love You" in 1985. Since then, he has recorded 110 albums and 600 songs and acted in 160 films.
His first Mandarin album, "Back for You," was released in 1989. He previously performed at Taipei Arena during his "Wonderful World" and "Always" tours in 2008 and 2013.
In a press release Lau said, “Holding a concert has been something I have really wanted to do, because only in this setting can I say face to face, very loudly, to the whole audience and every individual, ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.’”
The tour started on Friday (July 5) in Shanghai and will include multiple cities in China before heading to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei, before finishing up in Hong Kong.
