TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The weather will be dominated by rain for most of Taiwan Sunday (July 7) and Monday (July 8), according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The country is facing the passage of an upper level cold-core low pressure area, per CNA. A cold pool of air will pass at a higher level, with warmer air below, resulting in significant amounts of rainfall.
In practice, this will mean that the next few days will see more rain and less stable weather than Saturday (July 6), forecasters said. Sunday morning will start dry except for the east coast, but during the afternoon thunderstorms and rainy weather will spread to cover most regions.
Temperatures were still expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius in the north and 37 C in the south. The unstable weather would last for several days, with the rain likely to let up from Wednesday (July 10), though afternoon thundershowers were still a possibility. A high pressure area was expected to arrive near Taiwan by next weekend.
