TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The world-renowned theatrical dance phenomenon "Riverdance" is bringing its 25th-anniversary global tour to the Taipei Performing Arts Center from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3.
The show, which debuted its 25th-anniversary tour in 2019, was forced to take a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour restarted its North American leg in March 2022 and will now grace the Taipei stage, per Kham Ticket.
Riverdance is known for its high-octane performances and captivating visuals. This special anniversary tour features a unique fusion of traditional Irish tap dance interwoven with elements of flamenco, ballet, and Latin and American tap styles.
The original seven-minute version of "Riverdance" premiered in 1994. The production is the brainchild of Broadway legend Moya Doherty and features music by Grammy-winning composer Bill Whelan, per Riverdance.
The show boasts talented dancers, who perform with remarkable precision and coordination. "Riverdance" has captivated audiences worldwide, surpassing 18,000 performances, and has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards.
