TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Four NT$10 million (US$304,000) Special Prizes and five NT$2 million Grand Prizes have yet to be redeemed in the March-April edition of the Taiwan receipt lottery.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Monday (July 22) said there were 17 winners with the eight-digit serial number 44140251 who won the NT$10 million Special Prize for March-April, and 16 winners with the numbers 14715309 who won the NT$2 million Grand Prize, per CNA.
The MOF said those holding the winning receipts can claim their prize money until Sept. 5. It added that a drawing for the May-June lottery will be held on Thursday (July 25).
Of the four unclaimed NT$10 million Special Prize winning lottery receipts, one includes a NT$34 receipt issued by Uber Eats, while another is an NT$26 invoice for a sports drink bought at a convenience store in Taichung.
The other two winners are a CPC gas station receipt for NT$1,224 issued in Yunlin County’s Hukou Township, and a NT$51 receipt for a drink purchased at a 7-Eleven in Kaohsiung’s Nanzih District.
In regards to the five unclaimed NT$2 million Grand Prize winners, they include an NT$599 receipt issued by Taiwan Mobile, a NT$43 invoice issued by Foodpanda, a NT$641 receipt issued by a PX Mart in Yilan’s Dongshan Township, an NT$85 receipt issued by a Hi-Life convenience store in Chiayi, and a NT$1,178 receipt issued by Taiwan Taxi.
The receipt lottery system draws winning numbers every two months and is funded by a three percent tax on business revenue, encouraging consumers to collect receipts and avoid business with companies that evade taxes.
