TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Work and classes will be canceled in areas including Kaohsiung, Nantou, and Yunlin on Friday (July 26) for Typhoon Gaemi, while they will continue as usual in most of Taiwan.
The cancelation notices were updated by the Cabinet’s Directorate-General of Personnel Administration on Thursday after 8 p.m. In areas not listed below, work and classes will continue as usual on Friday.

- Hsinchu Jianshi Township Yufeng and Xiuluan Villages
- Hsinchu Taoshan Village
- Hualien Tianxiang Area and Heping Village
- Yilan Nan’ao
- Yilan Su’ao Nanqiang and Chaoyang Boroughs
- Chiayi Alishan, Zhuqi, Meishan, Fanlu, and Dabu Townships
- Kaohsiung Namaxia, Jiaxian, Shanlin, Qishan, Meinong, Taoyuan, Liugui, and Maolin Districts
- Nantou
- Yunlin
- Pingtung Sandimen, Wutai, Majia, Taiwu, and Laiyi Townships
- Taitung Heping District
- Kinmen
- Lienchiang (Matsu Islands)
Classes canceled, work as usual on Friday:
