TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Team Taiwan attended the Paris Olympics opening ceremony held on the River Seine on Friday (July 26).
The Taiwan delegation comprised 39 participants, including athletes from badminton, track and field, and boxing, per CNA. Breakdancer Sun Chen (孫振) and badminton star Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) served as flag bearers.
Team Taiwan was on the 74th boat, following Tajikistan, and shared the boat with Tanzania and Chad, per Liberty Times. Through the Paris rain, the team showed great enthusiasm.
As the team floated along the river, Sun, Tai, and the other athletes could be seen enthusiastically waving their flags.
The Paris Olympics will be held from July 24 to Aug. 11.
