TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Hoyoverse captured the spotlight with its hit game Zenless Zone Zero on Saturday (July 27) at Taipei’s 23rd Comic Exhibition.
According to a Hoyoverse press release on Friday (July 26), this year marks Hoyoverse’s first appearance at Comic Exhibition. Hoyoverse PR and marketing specialist Jenny Hsueh (薛琮蓁) said the company’s booth includes games such as Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and its latest RPG Zenless Zone Zero.
Released on July 4, players in Zenless Zone Zero can choose to play either Belle or Wise, siblings who live in New Eridu. Players complete missions, or “commissions,” to rank up and earn money.
Hsueh explained that at the booth attendees can complete various tasks and receive a stamp. With enough stamps, they can collect a small prize. With packed lines, fans clamored for a chance to play the game and show their skill.
Convention organizer Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association (CACPA) said despite the typhoon canceling the first day, the total number of visitors could still surpass last year’s 640,000 attendees, per CNA. It could even potentially exceed NT$250 million (US$7.6 million) in business opportunities, it added.
CACPA reported approximately 180,000 attendees on Friday, a first in the expo’s history.
