TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A fire broke out at a Taoyuan storage warehouse on Sunday evening (July 28) with reports of explosions.
Firefighters said no one was in the warehouse during the blaze and no injuries were reported, per CNA. They said after receiving a report at 7:44 p.m., 109 firefighters, 45 fire trucks, and three ambulances were sent to the fire in Taoyuan’s Guishan District.
Nearby residents reported hearing large explosions while the factory burned. Footage obtained by TV news shows a mushroom cloud rising from the flames.
The blaze occurred over 30 square meters and began in a single-story corrugated iron building. Firefighters said they did not believe any dangerous materials were in the building, and an investigation into the exact cause of the fire will be carried out over the coming days.
