TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn is teaming up with Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) to co-host Semi and AI for Climate Startup Cup competition.
According to a company press release on Monday (July 29), the semifinals will be held on Oct. 30 while the finals will be held on Jan. 7, 2025, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The event will feature a pitch competition and networking opportunities, per CNA.
XTC Cofounder Young Sohn said he is excited about the cooperation. “This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to harness the power of technology to address the urgent challenge of climate change,” he said.
“With Foxconn’s manufacturing expertise and XTC’s global network, we offer visionary founders the platform and jet fuel they need to scale their solutions,” Sohn added. “Together, we can make meaningful progress towards a sustainable and resilient future.”
Foxconn said it is dedicated to integrating cutting-edge, sustainable technologies. By hosting the competition, it hopes to leverage its manufacturing capabilities to help companies innovate, the company said.
Since 2015, XTC finalists have raised over US$4.4 billion (NT$144 billion) in investment funding.
