TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Cake chain Yannick launched 30 second-generation “Yannick To-Go Machines” (YTM) at select Taipei MRT stations on Friday (Aug. 2).
The new machines not only allow for easier purchases but also let consumers check inventory across Taiwan in real-time, per UDN.
Yannick Chair Wu Tsung-en (吳宗恩) said the upgraded vending machines have been installed across 21 stations, per CNA. The company now operates 51 machines in total, making it the largest vending dessert brand operating in the MRT, the chair said.
Wu added that sales data shows over 60% of YTM users rely on the MRT for commuting. The main customer group is between 25 to 35 years old, with peak purchasing times between 5-7 p.m. during the evening commute, he explained.
Wu said he hoped the new machines will promote the brand and raise profits in high-passenger traffic areas.
