TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Healthy Ageing Tech Show opened on Friday (Aug. 2) at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 and had a focus on AI.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and other partners, the expo, to be held from Aug. 2-4, focuses on healthcare, happy living, and smart services, per UDN.
Event organizers said one of the highlights is the tech and medical industry’s efforts to implement AI in equipment, per CNA. For example, Acer’s healthcare subsidiary, Acer Medical, is showcasing screening technology that uses AI to assess osteoporosis risk.
Another major highlight is the telecom industry’s focus on health management apps. Chunghwa Telecom’s new health app integrates exercise, diet, and sleep with AI analyzing health habits.
Also present was Taiwan Game Industry Promotion Association (TGIPA) Chair Liu Hsin (劉信) who represented the digital services industry. The chair said that games are an effective way to help the elderly maintain health and happiness while reducing feelings of loneliness.
The market for elderly care industries is expected to exceed NT$300 trillion (US$9.2 trillion) globally this year, reported CNA.
