TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — This year's Taiwan Culinary Exhibition concluded Monday (Aug. 5), drawing 104,575 visitors over four days, a 5.23% increase compared to last year.
The Aug. 2 to 5 event featured 240 chefs and artisans. Exhibitors reported strong sales and foot traffic, with many products selling out and requiring daily restocking, per CNA.
Numerous vendors sold out of many items ahead of schedule. The event also served as a platform for industry collaboration, with exhibitors reporting new business opportunities.
Taiwan Tourism Association’s Chien Yu-yen (簡余晏) said that aside from culinary skills, Taiwan's culinary heritage and culture were also showcased. Chien invited all participants to join the expedition again from Aug. 1 to 4 next year.
Tourism Administration Deputy Director General Lin Hsin-jen (林信任) said that this year was a success, with attendance and sales better than last year. He expressed hope for continued growth next year.
