TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan will hold a heroes parade Friday (Aug. 16) afternoon to celebrate the nation’s Olympic athletes, the General Association of Chinese Culture announced Tuesday.
The parade will follow a “Our Heroes! Team Taiwan” party at the Presidential Office, where the athletes will be honored. The procession will begin at 3 p.m. from the Presidential Office plaza and travel along Guanqian Road before ending at the Zhongxiao West Road overpass, per the General Association of Chinese Culture.
The public is encouraged to line the route to cheer on the athletes. The event will also be live-streamed on YouTube.
The military will participate in the celebration. The Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra will perform, and honor guards will create a “sword gate” to welcome the athletes.
