TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will host the eighth edition of the Ketagalan Forum — 2024 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue, at the Grand Hyatt Taipei on Aug. 21, per a MOFA press release on Tuesday (Aug. 13).
In cooperation with the Prospect Foundation, MOFA said the event “serves as a platform for enhancing exchanges” and encourages “all sectors of the international community to focus greater attention on peace and security in the Indo-Pacific.”
Keynote speeches will be delivered by former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, former Japanese Prime Minister Noda Yoshihiko, and former Slovakian Prime Minister Eduard Heger.
The event will be attended by 15 political officials and academics from 11 countries, including the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, India, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Denmark. They will discuss with their Taiwanese counterparts topics such as gray-zone tactics, digital authoritarianism, economic resilience, de-risking, and the role of Taiwan’s semiconductors in stabilizing global supply chains.
The keynote addresses and panel discussions will be live streamed to the public.
