TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A six-meter-tall plush bear went on display Wednesday (Aug. 14) as part of birthday celebrations for Taipei’s official mascot, Bravo.
The giant bear is on view at Taipei City Hall’s southeast plaza through Sept. 15. The site offers views of the city’s iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper, per CNA.
Every evening from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., a light show will project images of Bravo onto the city hall building. Organizers said the mascot will be removed only in severe weather like typhoons.
A birthday party for Bravo is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 17) in the Taipei City Hall lobby. The event will include a live podcast, photo booths, and circus performances.
