TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The East Rift Valley Festival will return on Saturday (Aug. 24) and Sunday at Hualien’s Luoshan Visitor Center, offering visitors an immersive experience into the lives and traditions of Taiwan's Indigenous tribes.
The free two-day event will focus on the theme of “healing” and feature six themed zones. The first 50 visitors each day will receive a handmade Bunun flower bracelet, per CNA.
For international tourists, the festival will feature bilingual signage and guided tours. Additionally, visitors with accommodations in Hualien or Taitung will be rewarded with a NT$200 (US$6.27) voucher.
The festival has grown into a signature event since its debut in 2018. This year's event will highlight the region's natural beauty and offer visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy Indigenous food, music, and handcrafted items.
Drawing inspiration from the concept of plant seeds, the festival's visual design and overall ambiance aim to create a sense of healing and renewal. Visitors can expect to immerse in various aspects of Indigenous culture from outdoor activities to traditional crafts.
The festival will showcase a variety of Indigenous musical performances. It will also feature a blend of electronic dance music and traditional Amis melodies.
