TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The 2024 Taiwan National Day fireworks will take place at 8 p.m. on Oct. 10 in Yunlin, with a spectacular 40-minute show comprised of 30,000 fireworks.
The Yunlin County Government said National Formosa University in Huwei will host a trial release of the fireworks at 8 p.m. Friday (Sept. 13). The trial release is expected to last five to 10 minutes, with special traffic control measures in surrounding areas, per UDN.
Event organizers expect a crowd of 300,000 people. The main fireworks viewing areas are Xuefu East Road, Jiancheng Road, and Yunlin High Speed Railway Station. Convenient transportation is expected to entice people from all counties to the display.
Yunlin County Government announced the main visual will feature native hand puppets from Yunlin. The reference to Taiwanese puppet theater is intended to help pass down traditions and culture from one generation to another.
Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan (張麗善) said the event will help Yunlin gain international visibility. She added that the Yunlin High Speed Railway Station is perfect for hosting the celebration, offering convenient transport options and open space.
