TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The 2024 Penghu Wind Chasing Music and Light Festival will kick off Friday (Aug. 30) with a series of five events on consecutive Friday nights.
Themed “Sing with the Breeze,” the festival will feature performances by 16 artists. The lineup includes Papun Band, OSN, Crowd Lu, Lala Hsu, Nine One One ft. Litzangboy, Yoga Lin, Bestards, Cosmos People, 831, U: NUS, W0LF(S), Accusefive, Ozone, WeiBird, and Nick Chou, per Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters (Penghu NSA).
In addition to the “Wind Chasing Opening Night” on Friday, the festival will include the “Magic Sound Wave Night” on Sept. 6. The “Band Wave Night” will be held on Sept. 13, the “High Tide Night” on Sept. 20, and the “Dazzling Closing Night” on Sept. 27.
The festival will also feature a diverse range of light installations. They are centered around wind, music, islands, and the four seasons, as announced by the Penghu NSA Director-General Hung Chih-kuang (洪志光) Tuesday.
The festival is expected to be a major tourist draw, following the success of last year's event, which attracted nearly 100,000 visitors. It will be followed by other autumn events such as the “Four Seasons Penghu Travel,” the “Penghu 101K Hopping Bike,” and the “Gaillardia Islands Penghu Cross-sea Marathon,” per CNA.
