TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chunghwa Telecom announced that its European subsidiary was established on Monday (Aug. 26) in Frankfurt, Germany.
In a press release published Tuesday (Aug. 27), Chunghwa Telecom said with its entry into the European market, the company is the only Taiwanese telecom with overseas branches and a comprehensive global network.
Chunghwa Telecom said the EU market, comprising 27 member countries, offers vast business opportunities, per CNA. Germany, the largest economy within the EU, serves as a gateway for international companies to enter the European market, the company explained.
Chunghwa Telecom Chair Kuo Shui-yi (郭水義) said the establishment of the European subsidiary is a critical step in the company’s overseas expansion.
“Chunghwa Telecom will work closely with local partners and leverage its abundant resources to meet the needs and provide services to Taiwanese businesses worldwide,” the chair said.
“Chunghwa Telecom’s belief is, wherever Taiwanese businesses go, Chunghwa Telecom will be there for them,” Kuo added.
The company said it aspires to support Taiwanese businesses expanding into Europe by leveraging its expertise in telecom and information technology. It said it is seeking cooperation with European telecoms, including Polish company Exatel.
