TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Four NT$10 million (US$313,000) Special Prize winners have yet to redeem their receipts for the March-April draw of the Taiwan receipt lottery and have only one week left before forfeiting their winnings.
On Thursday (Aug. 29), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Facebook there are still four unclaimed Special Prizes from the March-April round. People must redeem their winning receipts before Sept. 5.
With four days to go in Ghost Month (鬼月), MOF used dark humor to remind the public to inspect their receipts. It said only “forgetful ghosts” would not think to check their receipts and called on the public to tag their “forgetful ghost friends” on social media to remind them to look through their invoices.
The lucky Special Prize winner who spent the least and won the most bought a drink for NT$26 at a TSC Million convenience store on Zhongming South Road in Taichung's West District. The next-luckiest winner was issued an Uber Eats cloud invoice for NT$34.
A customer at the 7-Eleven on Youchang Street in Kaohsiung's Nanzih District won the Special Prize after buying a drink for NT$51 (cloud invoice). The Special Prize recipient who spent the most was a motorist who put down NT$1,224 on gasoline and other items at the CPC Corporation gas station on Zhongzheng Road in Yunlin County's Kouhu Township.
