TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴) and Russia's Veronika Kudermetova secured a victory in the second round of the US Open Tennis Championships women's doubles Saturday (Aug. 31), advancing to the round of 16.

The game was a three-set match over US sisters Carmen and Ivana Corley. The pair won 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, per CNA.

This marks the fourth time Chan has reached the round of 16 in women’s doubles at the US Open. She and Kudermetova will face Harriet Dart of the United Kingdom and Diane Parry of France in the quarterfinals.

Chan is also competing in mixed doubles at the US Open this year. She lost in the first round of mixed doubles but advanced to the second round of women’s doubles with Kudermetova.
