TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – As the Creative Expo Taiwan nears its end, a line about one kilometer long formed outside the venue in Tainan City Saturday (Aug. 31).
The southern town hosted the event as part of celebrations of its 400 years of history. With Sunday (Sept. 1) as its last day, an estimated 1,000 people showed up outside its doors Saturday morning, per CNA.
The Ministry of Culture denied reports that it stopped visitors from entering the site at noon Saturday, with waiting times reaching up to three hours. The authorities decided to adjust lines, so by 2 p.m., visitors only needed to spend half an hour in the sun outside before being allowed to enter the exhibition hall.
According to the city government, a total of 350,000 visitors had turned up for the 10-day event at the ICC Tainan in the Guiren District and at other venues spread over Tainan City. The final visitors would be allowed inside at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, organizers said.
The event featured art and handicraft fairs, cosplay activities, parades, and music performances.
