TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s “2024 Panasonic Taipei City Run” will be held on Sunday (Sept. 8), with several traffic control measures taken, the Taipei City Police Department announced Wednesday (Sept. 4).
During the race, all roads along the designated course will be closed to vehicle traffic. Bus stops located within the restricted areas will be temporarily unavailable, per Taipei City Police Department.
Police officers and traffic volunteers will be stationed at intersections to guide drivers. Visit the Taipei City Public Transportation Office website at http://pto.gov.taipei for the latest information on bus route changes.
Restricted roads and times are as follows:
- 12:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.- All lanes of Ketagalan Boulevard (from Chongqing South Road to Gongyuan Road) and Huaining Street (from Baoqing Street to Guiyang Street) will be closed
- 4:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. - All northbound lanes of the Xinsheng Elevated Road will be closed
- 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. - All southbound lanes of the Xinsheng Elevated Road will be closed
- 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - All lanes of Ketagalan Boulevard (from Gongyuan Road to Zhongshan South Road) will be closed
- 5:20 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.- All lanes of Gongyuan Road (from Xiangyang Road to Guiyang Street) will be closed
- 5:20 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. - The center lanes (including the bus lane) of Renai Road Sections 1 and 2 (from Zhongshan South Road to Jinshan South Road), and the inner lanes of the roundabout at Zhongshan South Road (Jingfu Gate roundabout) will be closed
- 5:20 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. - The northern slow lane of Renai Road Sections 1 and 2 (from Linsen South Road to Jinshan South Road) will be closed
- 5:20 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. - The three northbound inner lanes of Jinshan South Road Section 1 (from Renai Road to Jinan Road) will be closed
- 5:20 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. - The three southbound inner lanes of Jinshan South Road (from Jinan Road to Renai Road) will be closed
Alternative routes:
- East-west on Ketagalan Boulevard - Use Guiyang Street or Aiguo West Road
- Westbound on Renai Road - Use the south slow lane, Aiguo East Road, or Zhongxiao East Road
- Crossing Renai Road and Jingfu Gate roundabout - Use Jinshan South Road (northbound) or Chongqing South Road
- Xinsheng Elevated Road - Use Xinsheng North Road or Zhongshan North Road
