TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – German artist Willi Siber's latest exhibition “Baroque Pearls” showcases his unique fusion of Baroque and contemporary aesthetics through striking sculptures and wall installations.
Step into the Bluerider ART Taipei gallery and you will be transported into a world where the traditional meets the modern. It is a captivating showcase of the artist’s unique vision.
The exhibition, which opened on Saturday (Sept. 7), features a collection of Siber's latest works, many of which are making their Asian debut. His works are a testament to his deep connection with nature and his mastery of abstract expressionism.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is a triptych called “Panel Object” (Tafelobjekt), a mesmerizing 4-meter long dance of light and shadow. The smooth surface of the wood fiberboard reflects the light, creating a dynamic and ever-changing visual experience.
Another standout piece is "Standing" (Stehende), a series of steel sculptures that seem to defy gravity. The sculptures are adorned with opulent Baroque colors, a stark contrast to Siber's previous works. This departure from his usual palette adds a layer of intrigue to the exhibition.
Siber draws inspiration from nature and the past art of his native Germany, but his works are undeniably contemporary. His ability to seamlessly blend the old and the new is what makes his work so captivating.
To complement the exhibition, Bluerider ART Taipei has partnered with Naka Taipei to create a series of Baroque-inspired drinks. These drinks are as visually stunning as they are delicious and are the perfect accompaniment to Siber's art.
"Baroque Pearls" is slated to close on Nov. 10.
