TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Yunlin County will conduct a rehearsal for the National Day fireworks on Friday (Sept. 13), with traffic restrictions in place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The three-minute rehearsal fireworks will be held at the Huwei High Speed Rail Special Zone at 8 p.m. Local authorities will implement traffic restrictions, per Yunlin County Government.
The rehearsal will assess launch and landing patterns, Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan (張麗善) said. It is designed to ensure a safer and more visually stunning National Day fireworks display.
For those attending the test, there will be a designated parking area in the agricultural machinery exhibition area. Additionally, a medical station will be available in the main viewing area.
The restricted area includes Xuefu East Road (from Qingyun Fifth Road to Jiancheng Road) and Jiancheng Road (from Xuefu West Road to Qingyun Road). No vehicles or pedestrians will be allowed in the area.
Motorists are advised to follow the directions of traffic control officers and choose alternative routes.
The county government has designated 11 recommended viewing spots. Areas include the new Huwei baseball field, the Kendi community center, the Huwei Central Taiwan Science Park entrance, Sanhe Elementary School, the embankment along Huxing North Road, Wu-Tso Elementary School, Chifa Mazu Temple, Huwei night market, Jeeng-min Elementary School, Chongde junior high school, and the Beixi Paper-cut Art Village.
