TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Regent Taipei is celebrating this year's Mid-Autumn Festival with a barbecue buffet starting Friday (Sept. 13), featuring a variety of international grilled delights with unlimited beer on tap.
The event runs until Sept. 22 at the hotel’s Brasserie. South Korean, Japanese, and US-style barbecue are offered.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, falls on Tuesday (Sept. 17). The tradition of barbecuing during this time began due to challenges in exporting barbecue grills, according to Tatler Asia.
Over the past four decades, this practice has become a unique cultural tradition associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival in Taiwan.
Korean-style barbecue includes thinly sliced pork belly. An assortment of traditional seasonings and side dishes are also offered.
Japanese beef hamburg steaks are paired with red wine truffle sauce and served with koshihikari rice and onsen tamago eggs. A selection of nine house-made sauces can be paired with thick-cut roast beef for those who favor the American style.
Besides the various meats, the buffet will offer a selection of fresh salads and side dishes to satisfy different preferences.
The hotel’s “Take Regent Home” platform is also introducing three barbecue sets. It includes the Tomahawk steak, ribeye steak, and beef ribs.
