TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National University of Tainan (NUTN) signed a sister school agreement with Ishikawa Prefectural University to establish a cooperative relationship between the two universities, according to a NUTN press release on Friday (Sept. 27).
On Monday (Sept. 23), President Chen Hui-ping (陳惠萍) of Tainan University and President Nishizawa Naoko of Ishikawa Prefectural University inked the agreement, per CNA. A Japanese delegation visited the school Sept. 24-25.
After the signing ceremony, the schools held a joint seminar on environmental and biological sciences. Taiwanese professors and students shared their research findings and their experiences visiting Ishikawa Prefectural University.
NUTN said Ishikawa Prefecture and Tainan share many similarities, such as well-preserved historical streets with a nostalgic atmosphere. These shared historical and cultural interests will drive collaboration between the two universities, the school added.
Additionally, NUTN said the two universities will continue to deepen their cooperation in education and environmental ecology and promote cross-cultural communication to meet future challenges.
