TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Meteorologist Lin Te-en (林得恩) forecasted that Typhoon Krathon's (山陀兒) slow pace could lead to work and school cancellations for three days.
The Central Weather Administration (CWA) said the typhoon has slowed down and could affect Taiwan until Thursday morning (Oct. 3). It issued a sea warning on Sunday (Sept. 29) and a land warning on Monday (Sept. 30).
Lin said the typhoon is forecasted to make landfall between Kaohsiung and Pingtung and then head northeast. Lin said the north, northeast, and east are more likely to see closures due to the typhoon, while the south also has a chance, but specific announcements must be made by local officials.
The following areas will close offices and schools on Saturday (Oct. 5):
New Taipei
Wanli District: Work and classes canceled
Jinshan District: Work and classes canceled
Shimen District: Work and classes canceled
Sanzhi District: Work and classes canceled
