As of 10:30 p.m., cancellations have been announced for Chiayi County, Hualien, Taitung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung for Tuesday.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Work and classes have been canceled for Tuesday (Oct. 1) in parts of southern Taiwan due to Typhoon Krathon.

Cancellations have been confirmed for Pingtung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Taitung, according to the Cabinet’s Directorate-General of Personnel Administration. As of 8:45 p.m. Monday (Sept. 30), no announcements had been made regarding cancellations in other areas.

Work and classes were also canceled in some areas on Monday. The main effects of the typhoon are expected to be felt in Taipei on Wednesday and Thursday.
