TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Deputy Economics Minister Chen Chern-chyi (陳正祺) traveled to New Delhi to attend a CEO roundtable forum and an industrial collaboration summit, reports said Tuesday (Oct. 1).
The events alternate between Taiwan and India. Topics this year included drone operator training, 5G integration, electronic product recycling, investment subsidies, and tax concessions, per CNA.
The Taiwan External Trade Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA) took 34 companies and 55 representatives to the CEO roundtable, while Taiwan’s Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) accompanied 100 corporations to the collaboration summit.
Chen described the CEO forum as a crucial platform for dialogue between Taiwan and India. The government in New Delhi not only provided more details about India’s investment environment but also listened to the needs of investors from Taiwan, he said.
Nine Taiwanese companies held one-on-one sessions with potential Indian partners and suppliers on topics including AI, EVs, and drones. The two countries also reached agreements to equip ambulances in India with 5G systems that could supply information to hospitals in real-time and set up recycling programs for electronic products and solar panels.
