TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei Fubon Bank won three finance awards in September, demonstrating outstanding performance in financial education.
At the Financial Supervisory Commission’s (FSC) financial education awards ceremony, the bank won three honors: the Gold Award for “Best Salary Bridge,” the Gold Award for “Best Collaboration,” and the Silver Award for “Best Effectiveness.”
Fubon said that "barrier" is a relative concept. Whether it is customized services for those with disabilities or courses for young people, every action aims to make finance a bridge that connects hearts and promotes social inclusion.
Fubon’s “Yuyi” program, which won the Gold Award, is Taiwan’s first training program where students with physical and mental disabilities serve as intern bank clerks. For three consecutive years, it has provided special education students with financial training and internship opportunities.
The program has introduced a new employment transition model for various sectors to reference and allowed over 4,000 customers to understand the potential of special education students. It aims to gradually overturn stereotypes and fight for more opportunities for the disabled in society and the workplace.
Fubon said it collaborated with human rights organizations to target those with intellectual disabilities. It created two sets of easy-to-read manuals, focusing on frequently used banking counter services and ATM-related services.
The manuals help these individuals better understand the processes involved, enhancing their willingness to use financial services and thereby implementing financial equality, the bank said.
Fubon said it is committed to sustainable development and inclusive finance. The bank said it will continue to uphold the spirit of "positive power, achieving possibilities” and cultivate employees' sustainability awareness.
