TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Work and classes will be canceled on Thursday (Oct. 3) for every county and city in Taiwan due to Typhoon Krathon.
The Cabinet gave the cancellation notice just after 8 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 2). It includes work and school closures for the whole of Taiwan, including the outlying islands.
The closures mark the second day off for all of Taiwan during the typhoon. On Wednesday the Central Weather Administration said Typhoon Krathon has lost some strength, but its movement has accelerated and it is expected to make landfall in south Taiwan late Wednesday night.
After making landfall, the storm will continue to weaken, and if it downgrades to a tropical depression, the administration will lift land and sea warnings.
