TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Video surfaced on Friday (Oct. 4) showing three 7-Eleven clerks being hurled backward after the door they were trying to keep closed against Typhoon Krathon's winds burst open.
Krathon made landfall in Kaohsiung's Siaogang District at 12:40 p.m., making it the first typhoon in history to strike the city in October, per CNA.
At 1:05 p.m., three 7-Eleven employees on Shennong Road in Gushan District tried to brace the glass doors against the wind, reported Mirror Weekly. A strong gust of wind struck and the glass shattered, sending the workers backward.

The clerks were initially covered by debris. After the wind died down somewhat, one of the workers stood up and got behind the photocopier, per TVBS.
The other two crawled out from under ceiling panels to find their store damaged beyond recognition. The clerks took refuge soon after the incident, per Liberty Times.
