TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taipei 101 is planning fireworks for the first time for National Day, event chair Janet Chia (賈永婕) said Saturday (Oct. 5).
The iconic building, Taiwan’s tallest at 508 meters, has established a global reputation for its New Year’s Eve fireworks. Chia, a model and actress, took office as chair of the Taipei Financial Center Corporation (TFCC) in September.
She said staff only had “one or two weeks” to prepare the Double Ten National Day program. The one-minute fireworks will be accompanied by a laser and light show, per CNA.
Chia said she wants her team to create new and creative ideas to promote Taipei 101. She said the observatory on the 89th floor should have more visitors than it currently has.
