TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Transportation services including Taiwan Railways Corporation (TRC) and Taiwan High-Speed Rail (THSR) trains, and Metro systems have reduced or suspended their services on Thursday (Oct. 31) due to Typhoon Kong-rey.
The following is an overview of transportation issues across Taiwan, compiled by CNA:
Taipei Metro
The Wenhu, Tamsui-Xinyi, Songshan-Xindian, Bannan, and Zhonghe-Xinlu lines will have trains running every 12 minutes, with overlapping sections such as Nanshijiao to Daqiaotou operating every 6 minutes. Depending on passenger volume and wind speed, service intervals or operations on surface and elevated sections may be adjusted or suspended.
Taipei Metro announced that due to high wind speeds reaching the suspension threshold, the Wenhu Line and elevated surface sections, Yuanshan to Tamsui, Xinbeitou, and Xiaobitan stations, would suspend operations starting at 11 a.m.
New Taipei Metro
Intervals on the Danhai and Ankeng light rail lines will be extended to 30 minutes. The Circular Line will operate at 15-minute intervals, and shuttle buses between Banqiao and Zhonghe will run every 20 minutes. Service intervals will be adjusted based on weather conditions.
