TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Most counties and cities in Taiwan will resume normal work and school schedules on Friday (Nov. 1) as Typhoon Kong-rey's land warning is expected to be lifted Friday noon, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
Typhoon Kong-rey exited Taiwan at 6:40 p.m. Thursday. Its outer bands continue to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the country. As of press time, Taiwan is expected to be clear of the storm by Friday morning, except for Matsu. All warnings are anticipated to be lifted by Friday evening.
Work and classes in some areas in Taoyuan, Nantou, and Chiayi County will remain canceled. For the latest work and class updates as of Nov. 1 see below, and please refer to the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration website.
North Taiwan
Keelung City: Work and classes will continue as normal.
Taipei City: Work and classes will continue as normal.
New Taipei City: Work and classes will continue as normal.
